Ummm...can I get "Conversations I had never wanted to have with my son, EVER" for a million, Alex? The answer....

* Nixon kept trying to lean over and kiss me, but his mouth was wide open. At first I thought he was trying to lick me because you know, we do that to each other in our house so it's not totally out of the realm of possibility,  but when I ask him what he's trying to do, I end up having the most uncomfortable and disturbing conversation with him to-date.
me: *pushing Nixon's face away* Baby, what are you doing?
Nixon: I want to kiss you!
me: Why is your mouth open? Close your mouth and kiss me.
Nixon: NO! I want to touch my tongue with your tongue!
me: You want to what?!?! Why? Why would you even think of that? What?!? *clearly I am having a hard time grasping the words coming out of his mouth*
Nixon: But mom, I want to kiss you!
me: Oh my god, Nixon! You can kiss me, but for gods sake, your tongue stays in your mouth.
Nixon: No! I want to kiss you my way!
me: *sigh* Nixon, where did you learn or see kisses like that?
Nixon: The Big Bang.
me: Sonuvabitch! Okay, see here's the deal: first, no kissing anyone like that, until you are much older! Second, you do not kiss people you are related to like that. Got it?
Nixon: Really?
me: Nix, I adore you, but you must keep that tongue of your out of other people's mouths until you are older, they can not be related to you and you can never kiss mommy or daddy like that. You need to find someone you have feeling for in your heart, like I have feelings for daddy in my heart, to kiss like that.
Nixon: Mommy? Can I have a normal kiss from you and a hug too?
me: Of course you can...no licking!
*he laughs because I know exactly what he was going to try!*

Mac came home after training and I told the story to him. The only thing we could come up with that Nixon was talking about regarding the Big Bang Theory, is the episode with the long distance simulation kissing models that Raj and Howard use. The one where Leonard is still dating Raj's sister after she moved back to India. Yeah, we love that show and I guess we're going to have to be way more cautious about content, not just violence and language which had been our concern previously, when it comes to Nixon. Damn you, kid!!

I love my little geek!

* Nixon was counting random things today. I hear him saying "25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 100, one million! Mommy, I just counted to one million!" Well, he wasn't totally wrong. He did count to a million, he just skipped a lot of numbers in-between.

* Nixon was doing his lessons on abcmouse.com today. He earned enough tickets that he could buy a new hamster. He did and then came time to name it. His first virtual hamster's name is Avenger. me: Nixon, what do you want to name this hamster?
Nixon: Avenger!
me: Nixon, you already have a hamster named Avenger. Can you think of another name?
Nixon: OH! I don't know!
me: Well, let's think of things you like. Then you can pick a name.
Nixon: Sheldon Cooper!
me: *typed in Sheldon Co* Honey, you can name him "Sheldon" or "Cooper" but you can't name him "Sheldon Cooper, it's too big of a name for such a little hamster.
Nixon: I'll name him Cooper! Cooper's an awesome name!

* Nixon is becoming a whiz at addition! It started with simple math, using fingers to help him count.  But lately, if he recognizes the numbers he's being asked to add, he's doing it without using his fingers! And he LOVES counting and adding things! This past weekend, Mac bought Nixon a simple 6-sided dice. Nixon will roll it, then roll it again just so he can add the dots together and then hop the appropriate number of times he gets as a result.
The math geek in me is overjoyed that he's taking to math and numbers so easily! Math for me was simple and numbers just made sense. So for Nixon to have fun with the very basics so far, I'm bursting at the seams with motherly pride!
he had fallen out of his bed just moments before I took this photo. I went upstairs to check on him and he told me, in his sleepy-child voice, that he was chasing BeBe and they fell out of bed. I snuggled him and we sang my special song for him together. He's too much, even in his sleep!

This one's a little lengthy..sorry

*Nixon: I'm hungry.
  Mac: okay...
Nixon: * exaggerated point to his own chest* We want toast!
Mac: Don't refer to yourself in the 3rd person, this ain't hollywood.

* There was another comic book signing at Third Eye Comics today. Nixon and I got there about 45 minutes before doors opened.
(Now there's this horrible stereotype that only children identify with adults better than kids their own age. I guess Nixon has it easier than some kids because his parents hang out with adults who are into "kid-like" things, like comics.)
While Mac was in line getting his comics signed by the writer Dennis Hopeless, Nixon was showing his Star Wars Angry Birds blind bag to illustrator Mike Norton. He simply walked over to him and said "Look at this" and then said when asked which one was his favorite Nixon pointed to the stormtrooper and said "he is". Then Mike Norton asked Nixon "which one do you think is my favorite?", Nixon said "Well, I think this one is" and pointed to Vadar.
The most amazing thing isn't that Nixon had a conversation, however short it was, with an adult about Star Wars Angry Birds. It was that no one standing in line or walking around the store thought it was odd to see a 4-year old and a grown man talking toys together.

My hope is that this confidence he has now, he keeps forever....

"psst...hey Daddy"

I give "perfect mommy hugs"
Nixon: *hiding behind the curtains* Psst...hey, Daddy....
Nixon: pssst...hey, Daddy....it's me Nixon
me: *giggling* Babe
Nixon: Psst...hey, Daddy...it's me, Nixon.....I'm hiding
Mac: Good job Buddy, but if you're hiding you shouldn't tell me you're hiding.
Nixon: *crawling out from under the curtains* Oh.
Mac: *to me* It's like that whole Big Bang episode
"I'm going to my room"
"Very well Leonard, but next time try not to tell us where you're going to hide"
Mac: That needs to go in the blog for today
me: I'm on it.

* After I give Nixon a hug, he walks away and says "a perfect mommy hug". Anyone still wondering why he got a daily blog about him??

me: What do you want for dinner, bud?
Nixon: uh....bacon?
me: You want bacon for dinner? With what?
Nixon: cooking
me: What? You want bacon with cooking?
Nixon: Yeah. In the kitchen.
^^great, my 4-year old just told me to get in the kitchen and cook him some bacon!

He's perry...perry is on my (son's) butt!

Day 2...growing strong!

* "I'm dancing with my face." (Nixon told me this when I asked him what he was doing. It looked like a strange cross between headbanging and salsa/hip-hop dance. He was doing this to the Big Bang Theory theme song, so at least he's got taste in music. Barenaked Ladies are awesome!)

* at Amber "You peed on my bed! That's gross!"

* allowed Mac and I to sleep peacefully, in bed while Nixon watched cartoon in our bed. Generously giving hugs and kisses to us in our sleep. I'm used to this, Mac is not and almost slapped at Nixon. He didn't, but it's his automatic reaction to sudden touches while he's sleeping.

You know it's really hard to get the camera to focus in the dark...sorry for the blur.
